Below is a list of proposed IT Projects that are currently in the PAL review and approval process with the California Department of Technology (CDT). For purposes of this list “PAL Stage” refers to the last document officially submitted to CDT.
Projects are removed from this list when they exit the PAL process because: 1) the Agency/state entity receives CDT’s approval to begin project implementation; 2) CDT approves a Project Delegation Request; 3) the Agency/state entity withdraws the project; or 4) the CDT denies the project approval.
The Department of Justice’s (DOJ) current biometric systems (ABIS, ALPS, AAS) are at end-of-life for their current version and there is a need to upgrade these systems to the latest version of the software. DOJ manages 30M+ fingerprint records and rising volumes driven by legislative mandates. Failure risks downtime, security gaps, and noncompliance with PC §§11076–11112. Although there is an option to upgrade to Version 7 of the software either on-prem or to the cloud, DOJ has chosen the cloud upgrade because that is the direction NEC is moving their software.
