Project Overall Health Comments
• Funding is not sufficient beyond Fiscal Year (FY) 2017/18. The next budget cycle will be for FY 2019/20. As a result, there will be a one year delay in the project. • All of the initially planned installs are completed. The outstanding installations are those associated with new additions requested during the initial deployment. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is considering the new additions to be part of Maintenance and Operations (M&O). Some of the installations require CDCR to wait for construction to be completed.

Time Management

• The pilot project completed on schedule. The full project completion date is delayed by one year due to lack of sufficient funding beyond FY 17/18.
Cost Management

• The project expended funds within the approved budgeted baseline as reflected in the cost table included in this report. • The project is not funded beyond FY 17/18. The project team will work with the Business Program manager to gather metrics, which can support a future funding request in time for the FY 2019/20 BCP cycle.
Scope Management

• The scope is actively monitored by the Executive Sponsor. There are no changes to scope at this time.

• The project is resourced appropriately. • The current Project Director (PD), Mikel Chick, is moving on to another position. Julie Thompson will be acting Project Manager (PM) until they a replacement is identified. Ms. Thompson is well versed in the project in both the technical aspects and the administrative aspects. • Two positions needed for ongoing support were funded as limited term with the expectation CDCR would request ongoing funding in the next BCP cycle. Without FY 2018-19 funding, these positions are set to expire on June 30, 2018.

• The project is working closely with the institutions. The institutions are included in the weekly status meeting.
Conditions for Approval

•The Project Team is adequately addressing the Stage 4 Letter of Approval conditions for approval of the project. Per the conditions for approval, the CDCR will gather sufficient metrics to demonstrate the benefit of the deployments at Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) and High Desert State Prison (HDSP), then submit a FY 2019/20 BCP to support the remaining scope of the project. This effort has started and the Project Team will submit the benefit justification document along with the Special Project Report (SPR) or Post Implementation Evaluation Report (PIER).
